I mostly grew up in Berlin, where I was born in 1990, and partly in Spain, where my grandparents used to live. When I was 21 years old, I had already extensively travelled. But my curiosity has even grown ever since and my list of the places I would love to travel has become longer and longer. It has become a life task for me, to meet as many people as possible from different regions and societies, to document their circumstances of life, and to learn about their cultures.
Usually I travel alone, because in this way I better get along with my environment and it is easier for me to connect with people.
All pictures in this book were taken with my Canon A1, an analogue camera. I prefer black and white roll films because of their countless, fine grey nuances. They enable you to concentrate on the essentials in a snapshot without getting distracted by the colours.
With this book I want to show what I have seen across the globe. I especially want to share my pictures with people who have not the chance to travel as much abroad as I do. It is my greatest wish that after my death all my film negatives will be passed to a museum.
After all, they are photographic documents of contemporary history!
